In West Africa, pounding of yam (a staple food similar to potatoes) is a native custom. Fingers touch, pinch and knead the yam into a little ball for dipping into a hot & spicy meat or vegetable sauce. Fingers are then licked clean. No eating utensils needed for this dish! The artist captures the work of the local women, working together to create the "Yam or FUFU" for an entire compound or village. Another early creation by Artist Uche Amadi, this work of art is not matted or framed. Now ready for shipping.
"In order to accomplish a task that will benefit others, you must be willing to work together in harmony." Quoted by: A.M. Amadi
